Stuart Little Unit Study :Highlight

It is Sunday night. I have just finished preparing for our week two of a unit study on E.B. White's Stuart Little.
Last week we did so many fun things, but the absolute favorite was creating Stuart's room out of a shoe box and a ton of other scraps I had in my craft bin.
The entire room is "upcycled", we purchased nothing for the making of it.

Shoe box
Fabric Remnants
Pieces of lace, ribbon, and yarn
Cotton balls
Egg Carton
Plastic piece from inside of pizza box
Old buttons
Acorns
blueberry container

Samuel and Finn had a blast. Several times Samuel exclaimed, "I am so happy today! I love arts and crafting time!"
And, Finn was simply thrilled to have hours dedicated to coloring himself with a marker while I assisted his big brother with the hot glue gun. By the way, I am a big fan of giving kids the hot glue gun and letting them go to town creativity. With a little instructions, some supervision, and a bit of relaxing on Momma's part kids can really engage more in a project if they can man the gun....
