Finally! We no longer have a TV on our main floor. The television is nicely and comfortably tucked away in the basement ready for family movie nights. The living room is now peaceful, perfectly suited for reading, piano, coloring, puzzles, window gazing, and sometimes just laying down on the floor and thinking. I am loving this space! It is so peaceful and encouraging creativity in both myself and the dudelings.
Even though we did not watch the TV much at all before just having it removed from the room is somehow freeing. It no longer sits in the corner whispering at us. Now, we hear, and answer the call of books and paper and open space.
Story telling. Imagination exploring. Role playing. Day dreaming. Simple chatting. Praying. These are things I have noticed we do more of, and all because we have a space that welcomes them with open arms. A space with no electronics.
Loving it.
