52 Degrees, Welcome!

Today, in our part of the hemisphere it hit a lovely 52 degrees.
Jason headed to Chicago for work, poor guy.

The Moose and I packed up and went hiking. The biggest decision of our day was choosing which dog to take on the trip..being that I can not easily handle both of them...mostly because Puka is an idiot.

We hiked, both of us walking.
We hiked, the Moose riding on my back.
We hiked, the Moose rolling down hills.

Great day. Great day. Great day.
The Moose also had his very first experience with going to the bathroom in nature. After announcing that 'we do NOT pee on the floor', he grinned and has now joined the ranks of man after man that find great fun in outdoor urination. That's my boy.

Here are some pictures of our day.

Frozen Poop

I have a couple of friends who sent me emails this past week asking why I have not updated my blog.

Here is why:

I have two dogs. They are crazy. These dogs have a mudroom, concrete floor, sliding glass door opening to the backyard.

They are notorious for bringing bits and pieces of the backyard into the mudroom...rocks...sticks....firewood...poop.

The latter is a new one. Yesterday I walked out into the mudroom and noticed a big piece of poop on the floor.

Gross. It was frozen solid though minimizing the gross factor.

I opened the sliding door, grabbed a nearby dog bowl and tried to scoop up the poop and fling it out the door. It was a flawed plan from the start.

Here is the problem~ flinging frozen poo from a bowl causes the frozen poo to fly up into the air and curve right back around only ricochet powerfully off of the lip of the bowl.

I got smacked right in the middle of the face with a big piece of frozen poop.

It hurt. Frozen poop hurts.

This, my dear friends and readers, is why I have not blogged as of late. This entire week has been one frozen poop incident after another, leaving me in shock, laughing until my body hurts, and a bit grossed out.

Hope you enjoyed the update. :)
